6th Street & Entertainment District
Austin's legendary entertainment corridor — a mile of live music, bars, and nightlife.
About the District
Sixth Street is Austin's most famous entertainment destination, stretching from Congress Avenue east toward I-35. The district's late 19th-century Victorian buildings house an eclectic mix of dive bars, dance halls, comedy clubs, and live music venues that have defined Austin's nightlife for decades. While primarily an entertainment district without residential condo buildings, 6th Street is a major lifestyle draw for residents of surrounding districts who enjoy its energy, events, and walkable nightlife.
