What’s the latest on all the new commercial space in downtown Austin?

Republic Tower signed two new leases that puts the new tower at 73% leased. Waterline is officially complete with the 1 Hotel opening this past month, apartment leasing has begun. The Travis apartment complex has also begun leasing. Google is beginning a $25m improvement into their sail tower as they continue to move in.

• Downtown Austin could expand it’s density bonus program next spring - this would create height allowances south of the river (South Central Waterfront District) and allow sites throughout downtown to reach up to 1,200 feet (Waterline is 1,025 feet)

• Austin’s Emmer & Rye signs a lease at the Old 6th revitalization project - the hospitality group, known for their Michelin recognized group for various food concepts at Hestia, Canje, Pullman Market, and more. No detail yet on what they might bring.

• New details drop on the Convention Center - more renderings and floor plans show more of what’s coming to the 14 acres in downtown. There will be 70% more rentable space than before and more space for the public
